About Me
Hello! It is a pleasure welcoming you to Six Villages Primary Tuition. My name is Sarah Cleare and I am an enthusiastic and experienced primary school teacher. Based in Eastergate, I can provide children in primary education with individual tutoring to meet their needs.
* Fully Qualified Teacher with 12 years experience of teaching the Primary National Curriculum;
* Experience of working in Early Years settings;
* Enhanced DBS Checked;
* Fully Insured;
* Paediatric First Aid Certificate obtained in 2023.
The story so far...
I have always been passionate about working with children so, in 2001, I began studying for a BSc in Psychology. This included learning about child development and during this time I completed a year long placement in a special school; supporting children with specific learning difficulties. After gaining my degree, I completed my PGCE to gain Qualified Teacher Status and in 2007, fulfilled my lifelong dream of becoming a primary school teacher.
Over the course of the following 12 years, I had the privilege to teach children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Whilst I taught all lessons across the curriculum, I held a specific responsibility as maths coordinator within the school. My lessons were inclusive of different learning styles and encouraged a growth mindset. In my classroom, children developed the confidence to ‘have a go’ and learned that mistakes are expected and respected. Where possible, I linked the children's learning to relevant and memorable real-life situations, to ensure depth of understanding. Throughout, I would make assessments in relation to national expectations and plan next steps to facilitate children to reach individual goals.
Four years on, I now have two children of my own (as well as a husband and a friendly cat!). I live in Eastergate and it is at my home that I have a designated classroom, which is perfect for one-to-one tuition. During our sessions together, I can offer tailored support to help your child to fulfil their potential.

What I offer
I offer personalised one-to-one tuition from my home for children in the Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
I can tailor sessions to your child’s individual needs and offer tuition in the following subjects:
* Maths - mental arithmetic
* Maths - problem solving and reasoning
* Phonics and spelling
* Reading
* Writing including punctuation, grammar and handwriting
Whether your child has fallen behind national expectations or they need a boost to their confidence and self-esteem, I am here to help.
Please contact me on 07726 775048 for a free no obligation telephone consultation to discuss whether tutoring may be right for your child. I can then continue with an initial face-to-face discounted session to get to know your child (subject to availability). At this time, I will carry out an informal assessment of their individual needs and goals. Equally, I would like to find out about their personal interests and how to make any future sessions engaging for them. I am a firm believer that creating a positive relationship with your child is paramount to ensuring optimum success.
Following the initial face-to-face session, you may like to commit to regular weekly sessions for a minimum of a half a term. The typical duration of these sessions is 50 minutes at a cost of £30.
Different session durations may be available so please contact me to discuss your individual requirements.

This is a free service where I am happy to chat for up to 30 minutes. The purpose of this is to discuss your concerns and discuss whether tutoring may be worth considering for your child.
1st session: Preliminary ‘getting to know you’ session
£25 for one 50 minute session, payable in advance*
No commitment or obligation to continue.
2nd session onwards
£30 per 50 minute session.
Sessions from this point forwards are booked in half termly blocks and payable in advance*
Sessions of different duration may be available.
